Zod, Non, & Ursa aka The Phantom Zone

Here's a piece I did for a charity event with some coworkers. For info on the show go here:

The actual piece being auctioned was done on several layers for a 3D effect and then placed in an acrylic case...

The Iron Giant 10th Anniversary Reunion

Iron Giant passed over almost everyone's radar when it was released 10 years ago. Like most people, I caught up with the film on DVD. It immediately became one of my favorite animated movies. It was E.T. with a giant robot!

For the 10th Anniversary, the old crew got back together on the Warner Bros. lot for a two and a half hour long retrospective on the film. I couldn't pass up the chance to sit in the audience.

Here, Brad Bird talks about pitching the concept of the Iron Giant to the studio.

Here Jeff Lynch (Head of Story) talks about Ray Gunn, the project that was in development before Giant and never got off the ground.

Shane Prigmore and Eddie Rosas were fresh out of art school when they started work as animators on the film. Here Shane talks about finishing his first scene. The first few seconds are a little muffled....

Everyone who worked on the film was invited on stage at the end of the presentation.

Bizarro Superman

It was pointed out to me yesterday that Latinoreview.com is using some art I did of Bizarro for one of their news stories.
Here was the front page... It is also featured in the video. Check it out here: http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-first-look-at-bizarro-superman-6522

This just further proves my theory that latinos love Ryan Savas.

Cinematography Studies

In my down time I've been pausing DVDs and quickly thumbnailing the composition. Here are some from Barry Lyndon.
More from The Bridge on the River Kwai.

Time for my bi-yearly post

I haven't had time to do much personal work lately. Here are a couple of older pieces. Hopefully I'll be adding new stuff soon.
